MAY UPDATES
JNHE EXHIBITORS
Thanks for making a Mad Dash to the early entry deadline. A record number of early bird entries were received, and as of May 15, reports total more than 1,200 entries from 500+ exhibitors who are making plans for the biggest Bash of the year. It’s a countdown to the finish line and we can’t wait to see you at the Hereford Bash in less than 50 days.

Staff is busy sifting through problem entries and payments. In order to help us get these problems solved and pending payments taken care of, please respond to any e-mails from Bailey Clanton, bclanton@hereford.org, as quickly as possible. Prompt attention and repose to these e-mails will allow staff to get reports and stalling pulled together much quicker after the final deadline of June 1.

The Junior National Hereford Expo is way more than a cattle show and we hope you have finished up a successful school year and are busy putting the final preparations on your contest entries. It’s a Mad Dash to make the finals in Madison and you can’t compete in person unless you enter by June 1. There is still plenty of time to put together your speech, upload a photo to the photo contest or make your plans for the CHB Cooking Challenge and we can’t wait to see all of the talented NJHA members in action online and in person. Please reach out to
Chloé Fowler at cfowler@hereford.org if you have any contest questions.

Join us in welcoming the 2023 Youth Activities summer interns.

Kase LeRow, McGregor, Texas, and Laramie Coffey, Morrison, Okla., are arriving in May, assisting in preparing for the Mad Dash to the Hereford Bash in Madison, Wis., and the Faces of Leadership conference in Columbus, Ohio. We're excited to have them join the team.

2023 JNHE HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
*Texas and Michigan’s TB Free Zone*
All cattle, regardless of age, will be required to have a negative individual TB test within 60 days of
entering Wisconsin.
OR
If the Texas or Michigan animals originate from a currently accredited TB-free herd, individual TB tests are not required, but the accreditation number and date of the last whole-herd TB test must be on the CVI.

DASH TO BEING A DIRECTOR
The National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) Board of Directors makes a difference in the lives of other junior members and can be a dream come true to be elected to these coveted positions.
