THE NJHA EXCLUSIVE

The National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) is one of the largest, strongest and most active junior cattle programs in the country with 4,100 active junior members. News and details about the NJHA, specifically designed for the NJHA State Advisor or State Officer, are within this NJHA Exclusive.

STATE LEADERSHIP & EDUCATION GRANT

After a successful Mad Dash to the Cash fundraiser in Madison this summer, The Hereford Youth Foundation of America (HYFA) is excited to unveil a new state leadership and education grant program. These grassroot grants are available to all state junior associations based on application and will help us work together as we build the pipeline of leaders at the National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA). This fundraising effort replaced the state basket and state spotlight fundraisers from previous years in an effort to create more leadership and educational opportunities at the grassroots.

HYFA and NJHA appreciate all of the state associations that help make the NJHA one of the best beef youth organizations in the world. Grant funding is to be used for any leadership or educational goals of the state junior membership. Grant applications are available through the Submittable platform and due Jan. 15, 2024.

More information about the application and acceptable uses for the funding can be found in the application.

'TIS THE SEASON OF GIVING

The Hereford Season of Giving, hosted by HYFA, is back for the second year in a row and will be Dec. 4-8. Throughout the weeklong event, challenge gifts will be unwrapped as online donations are made to support HYFA’s pillars of education, leadership, research and scholarship.

Thanks to an outpouring of support, in 2022 HYFA celebrated $135,000 in the first ever season of giving annual campaign. In 2023, the goal is $150,000 and 250 online donors. The foundation invites you to celebrate the season and join this fundraising effort to benefit all of NJHA’s leadership an educational programs. Donors may specify which pillar they would like to give to at the time of giving.

All Season of Giving donors will be put in a drawing for a chute sponsored by our friends at Priefert to be given away at the close of the annual campaign.
