The National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) is one of the largest, strongest and most active junior cattle programs in the country with more than 4,200 active junior members. STATE LEADERSHIP & EDUCATION GRANT

CONGRATULATIONS

For those who applied for a State Leadership and Education Grant, we'd like to thank you for your state's participation and congratulate those who received a $1,600 grant to go towards their state's goals of promoting leadership and educational opportunities for their juniors. Funds for these grants were made possible by the Mad Dash to the Cash fundraiser sale at the 2023 Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE). In the years moving forward, a fundraiser sale will continue to be offered, as well as special events like Corn Hole for A Cause and the Hereford Youth Foundation of America's (HYFA) 5K Race that will benefit the NJHA's efforts to give back to the state level.

Congratulations to the nine states who received a $1,600 education and leadership grant.

BOLD LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

Congratulations to these high achieving juniors. These selected NJHA members were chosen to attend and participate in the 2024 BOLD Leadership Conference hosted at GKB Cattle's Hi Point Ranch in Desdemona, Texas, April 4-7. This year 21 juniors, from 15 states, will participate in this elite leadership opportunity to build on their leadership development. Congratulations and a big thank you to GKB Cattle and HYFA for making a difference in NJHA's young leaders.

The scholarship, awards and buckle ceremonies will be extra special this summer at the 25th JNHE and we encourage you to encourage your junior members to apply for all of the scholarship and awards that will be recognized in Grand Island.

Spring HYFA Scholarship and award applications are now open for NJHA members. Juniors who are a high school senior or college student, should take advantage of the close to $40,000 available to help achieve their college and career goals.

Additionally, the applications for the Prospect Awards and Junior Golden Bull, are open for those high achieving younger junior members.

GET INVOLVED IN CONTESTS & PROGRAMS

The rules and structure of the different contests to be hosted at the JNHE are available on the JNHE Resources. page. Following the close of the HYFA Scholarship applications, these contests will open for juniors to compete and participate in.

Juniors competing in these educational programs are eligible for cash prizes and awards made possible by the National Hereford Women and HYFA. Make sure your juniors are well versed in the contest rules for the Grand Daddy of 'Em All.

Save the Date for the most exciting and elite sale offered by HYFA and the NJHA each spring, the Sale of Champions, March 20 hosted on Sale Day. Proceeds from this sale go to supporting the "Grand Daddy of Em All" and the 2024 JNHE in Grand Island, Neb.
